This is not a Bitcoin Charleston event but it is a Bitcoin specific meeting of CryptoMondays that I thought you may be interested in attending.

CryptoMondays Charleston – Special Edition
Bitcoin, El Salvador & the South Carolina Financial Freedom Act
Bitcoin is creating new economic bridges.
Join us Monday evening at The Whale for a special edition of CryptoMondays Charleston exploring how connections between South Carolina and El Salvador’s Bitcoin economy are beginning to translate into real-world products, trade, and policy conversations.
Lux Generación Whiskey Tasting
This week we’ll feature a tasting of Lux Generación, the first whiskey produced in El Salvador and Central America.
The project grew out of connections made during a 2022 delegation to El Salvador led by South Carolina State Treasurer Curtis M. Loftis. Members of the delegation traveled at their own expense to explore opportunities emerging after El Salvador became the first country in the world to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender.
Those conversations helped open the door to new relationships between South Carolina entrepreneurs and El Salvador’s emerging Bitcoin economy. Lux Generación is one example of how those early connections are beginning to translate into real products, trade, and collaboration.
It’s also a reminder that Bitcoin is not just a technology story — it is creating new economic bridges between communities willing to engage with the future of finance.
Policy Conversation: S163
We’ll also open a discussion on S163, digital asset legislation currently moving through the South Carolina General Assembly.
Often referred to as the South Carolina Financial Freedom Act, the legislation represents a historic step toward recognizing and protecting the rights of individuals and businesses to use Bitcoin and open blockchain networks in the state.
The bill affirms the lawful operation of Bitcoin mining and node infrastructure, protects the right of South Carolinians to self-custody digital assets, and establishes clear guardrails ensuring the state does not participate in the implementation of a central bank digital currency framework.
From Bitcoin adoption abroad to digital asset legislation at home, these conversations are shaping new economic bridges.
